Queensland Shared Services (QSS) is seeking an accomplished and customer centred senior leader to lead the delivery of high quality, contemporary payroll services across Queensland Government. This is a pivotal leadership role with accountability for workforce outcomes for thousands of employees across the state.
You do not need to have experience in payroll or HR, your direct reports and teams possess these technical capabilities. The role requires a leader with extensive experience leading large teams of 100 or more staff delivering services.
You will provide strategic leadership of large, multi disciplinary teams and will play a key role in shaping the future of payroll services. This includes leading and influencing significant change initiatives, strengthening service performance, and delivering major service transformation.

About the Role
Queensland Shared Services (QSS) is seeking an accomplished and customer centred senior leader to lead the delivery of high quality, contemporary payroll services across Queensland Government. This is a pivotal leadership role with accountability for workforce outcomes for thousands of employees across the state.

As Director, Payroll Services, you will provide strategic leadership of large, multi disciplinary teams and will play a key role in shaping the future of payroll service delivery within QSS. This includes leading and influencing significant change initiatives, strengthening service performance, and delivering a major payroll service and process transformation.
This role requires an engaging, inclusive leader who combines extensive people leadership with a solid background in leading change and creating an environment where staff can perform at their best.
About You
You are a senior leader with a proven track record of leading large, geographically dispersed service delivery teams through complexity, change and transformation. You are equally comfortable operating at a strategic level and engaging deeply with operational issues when required.
You will bring experience in:
- Strategic leadership, of large service delivery functions of 100 or more staff, balancing people leadership, service performance, risk and customer outcomes
- Extensive experience leading large teams, creating the conditions for high performance
- Driving organisational change, continuous improvement and service innovation in complex environments
- Establishing and maintaining strong partnerships with senior stakeholders and customers grounded in trust, collaboration and accountability.

- A salary package from $166,623 to $174,339 per annum plus 12.75% employer superannuation contributions and 17.5% leave loading (total remuneration value from $190,387 to $199,204).
