Gold Coast Performance Centre (GCPC), located at Runaway Bay, is a leader in the sport & recreation industry. GCPC's modern training facilities are designed both as an elite training venue and a community facility for health and fitness. The Centre caters to beginner athletes and school sporting teams, as well as hosting international & national sporting teams in purpose-built accommodation lodges.

Sport and Recreation supports and encourages participation and success in sport and active recreation through delivery of grant funding for sport and active recreation organisations and clubs, infrastructure and participation programs, the operation of precincts and venues, and through engaging and partnering with the active industry across Queensland.

This is your opportunity to manage the day-to-day gym operations at Gold Coast Performance Centre, acting as team leader for our gym instructors and contracted personal trainers to deliver excellent health and fitness services to meet client expectations and coordinating closely with other departments to provide quality programs and service to our 3000+ community members and visiting athletes.

As the Gym Team Leader you will:
Recruit, train and supervise the frontline gym staff to ensure operations in the gym are safe, efficient and adhere to all policies and procedures.

Assist in the review and implementation of gym procedures to meet safety requirements and the needs of staff and members.

Ensure all aspects of the gym operations of the venue meet current workplace health and safety, fire safety, environmental and other legislated standards and support implementation of the venue's event risk management procedures.

Maintain accurate records to enable planning and performance reporting for the gym area by monitoring monthly budgets against yearly targets, providing monthly reports to supervisors and liaising with the memberships team to monitor cancellations.

Monitor and oversee member induction programs to ensure all new members receive an effective and safe induction program.

Liaise with Centre users and other staff to identify new program opportunities to meet identified needs and increase memberships.

Encourage an environment in which high quality services are delivered by continually seeking improvements in systems and processes and leading by example.

Assist with promoting the venue's products and services and maximise business opportunities through marketing.

Liaise, consult, negotiate and develop partnerships with appropriate industry stakeholders in relation to the delivery of sport and recreation products and services at the venue.

Use effective interpersonal, written and oral communication skills and liaise with all levels of the private, public, industry, community sectors and clients to enable successful outcomes.
