Join our dynamic Strategic Communication and Engagement team within the Department of Customer Services, Open Data and Small and Family Business.
We deliver media, social media, communication, marketing, corporate events, sponsorship, engagement support, and online and creative services.

As the Senior Advisor (Creative), you will deliver high-quality design, photography, and videography to support the department’s strategic priorities.
You’ll create engaging, accessible content across digital and print platforms, ensuring brand consistency and strong audience connection.
Your work will help bring campaigns to life and strengthen stakeholder engagement.

Your responsibilities:
• Work with the team to deliver high-quality graphic design products and services across web, digital and print.
• Demonstrate an excellent ability to interpret design briefs and proposals and ensure that recommendations align with department priorities and outcomes, and audience needs.
• Actively contribute to a collaborative, consultative and outcome-focused team who are responsive to client feedback and needs.
• Navigate ambiguity and support the team to be resilient and positive about delivering excellence in a rapidly changing environment.
• Demonstrate excellent graphic design skills in developing quality designs for a wide range of products including newsletters, electronic direct mail, social media, video, animation, advertising, stories, websites, presentations, events, speeches, publications and marketing materials.
• Ensure that projects are delivered to support integrated communications outcomes.
• Manage our department graphic design strategies and guidelines including training communications staff on how to ensure their products adhere to those standards.
• Ensure that our content complies with department and government graphic design style guides, standards and policies.
• Ensure that our department's corporate identity standards, including brand and style guides, are regularly maintained.
• Provide guidance to stakeholders on graphic design projects, building their trust and confidence in our advice and delivery.
• Build and maintain positive and effective relationships with key stakeholders including business teams, senior executives and external stakeholders.
• Actively adopt a ‘digital first' approach, prioritising usability, accessibility, and responsiveness across all platforms, in line with the Human Rights Act 2019 and Queensland Government accessibility standards.
• Maintain a high awareness level of current trends and developments in digital design and emerging multimedia technologies to utilise the tools required to maximise product quality.
• Ensure that our stories are told through using highly creative digital tools and channels and that all creative outputs meet branding, accessibility, communication and quality standards.
• Effectively prioritise and manage competing deadlines, ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality creative outputs that meet stakeholder expectations.
• Thrive working in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment where we have a strong focus on delivering excellent communications outcomes.
• Have a proven ability to work autonomously, take ownership of your role and have a team-orientated approach.
• Actively contribute to a positive and collaborative team environment by demonstrating the department's core values, celebrating success, and participating in professional development opportunities.
