About the role:

The role is responsible for leading and developing TEQ's information technology strategy and delivery to enable TEQ to achieve its strategic and operational goals.

This includes delivering secure, reliable and contemporary technology services that support TEQ's Queensland and international operations, stewarding the organisation's information and data assets; and ensuring advancement across programs of work that further mature TEQ's digital position.

Due to a secondment opportunity, this role is an Acting six-month contract from mid-May to 13 November 2026.

Key duties:

  • Provide strategic leadership for information technology, aligning digital solutions and innovation to TEQ's business objectives.
  • Lead the development and delivery of IT strategies, systems, and projects, ensuring strong execution, change management, and adoption across the organisation.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with internal stakeholders, partners, vendors, and service providers, with accountability for service delivery and contracts.
  • Manage IT financial performance, including budgets, business cases, and initiatives that drive efficiency, value, and business improvement.
  • Develop and lead a high‑performing, engaged IT team that enables organisational productivity and performance.
  • Ensure robust ICT governance, risk management, cyber security, disaster recovery, and compliance with Queensland Government and industry standards.

For this role, we will consider your:

  • Extensive experience developing and delivering IT strategy that drives improved business performance.
  • Proven capability to lead contemporary information management practices and enterprise‑wide information architecture.
  • Demonstrated success in leading large‑scale change, continuous improvement, and complex ICT projects.
  • Strong track record in delivering reliable, fit‑for‑purpose IT services that support core business operations.
  • Ability to build and sustain effective internal and external stakeholder relationships, including managing vendor and service provider contracts.
  • Strong, collaborative leader with sound financial acumen and relevant tertiary qualifications in IT or a related commercial discipline.
