This role is responsible for the South East Region’s planning, performance and reporting functions to achieve high quality outcomes that support the strategic and operational objectives of the South East Region and the department. This involves leading the Planning, Performance and Reporting team within the Office of the Regional Executive Director, leading regional reform and improvement initiatives and providing support and advice to staff across the region.

As a Senior Analyst you will:

  • Develop, implement and maintain a range of multifaceted integrated client data management information systems, processes and procedures for performance reporting and analysis of regional performance and statistical data
  • Assist in the development and implementation of performance measurement and reporting frameworks that meet the long term requirements of the department
  • Review, identify and analyse systemic trends and issues using data and local performance information from a variety of sources, and provide authoritative advice and recommend appropriate strategies to resolve performance issues
  • Contribute to strategic and operational planning, providing relevant reporting, data management and extraction from consistent and accurate sources
  • Collect and provide operational performance data and analysis as required for internal and external stakeholders
  • Support staff to use demographic, socio-economic, human services and performance data so that it contributes to effective planning and service delivery
  • Foster a work environment focused on continuous improvement through the identification and implementation of business, process and technological improvement initiatives
  • Use strong interpersonal communication skills to negotiate, establish and maintain networks and working relationships with team members, clients and stakeholders
  • Liaise and consult with relevant key staff to promote and implement data quality improvement strategies and monitor and maintain these strategies to ensure the highest level of data quality, accessibility and security.
  • Manage other projects as required or requested

Role specific/technical skills

  • You have advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and well-developed skills in other Microsoft Office packages.
    • Excel - in the areas of Power BI, Pivot Tables, formulas and macros (VBA code), data visualisation
    • Powerpoint - developing presentations around the analysis of data.
  • You have an advanced knowledge and experience in utilising multifaceted integrated client data management information systems (UNIFY), including interrogating, extracting and analysing data to support performance reporting.
  • The possession of a driver's licence is a requirement for this role, as it will involve travel between Child Safety Service Centres.  Accepted driver's licences fall into the following categories:
    • “O” (open) or “P2” (provisional green P plate);
    • and “C” or “CA” class driver's licence

We will consider your demonstrated knowledge, skills and experience relevant to the key responsibilities of the position (outlined above), along with your demonstrated personal attributes, and may also consider your potential contributions to the department's equity and diversity objectives.

Our selection panel consider this position to be a team leader, within the Queensland Public Service Leadership competencies for Queensland (LCQ) framework and will be looking for demonstrated capability within in your application.
