Queensland is undertaking one of the most significant rail transformation programs in its history. Reporting to the Executive Director (Commercial & Program Governance), the Director (Program Performance & Reporting) is a pivotal leadership role within the Rail Infrastructure Delivery Office, responsible for the frameworks and insights that give government confidence in the delivery of multibillion‑dollar rail investments.
This role exists to translate scale and complexity into clarity. You determine how performance, financial integrity and procurement outcomes are measured, assured and communicated, enabling informed decision‑making at Executive, Cabinet and whole‑of‑government levels. Your influence extends across major programs of state significance, delivered in a high‑risk, time‑critical environment ahead of the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Operating with significant autonomy, you shape the performance narrative for the rail portfolio, bringing early visibility to emerging risks, trade‑offs and investment consequences that will endure for decades. You sit at the commercial and governance core of the organisation, working in close partnership with the Executive Leadership team to ensure priorities are contested, value is defended and accountability is maintained across complex delivery ecosystems.
As discipline head for program performance and reporting, you set enterprise standards and expectations that reach beyond individual projects. You lead the evolution of analytics, reporting and benefits realisation approaches that support proactive executive action rather than retrospective assurance. Your remit spans statutory reporting, budget processes, audit and assurance, all delivered with the credibility expected of one of the state's most closely scrutinised infrastructure portfolios.
You represent the organisation with senior central agencies and cross‑government forums, shaping how the rail program is positioned with Treasury, national infrastructure bodies and industry. Internally, you are a trusted adviser to senior leaders, providing clear, independent advice on issues carrying material financial, reputational and delivery consequences.
Success in this role is evident in executive confidence, in earlier and better informed decisions, and in infrastructure investments that deliver enduring public value for Queensland communities. This is a career‑defining opportunity to influence outcomes at state and national scale, and to leave a long‑term legacy through disciplined governance of critical public infrastructure.
Applications to remain current for 12 months.
