This is your opportunity to influence the future of Queensland tourism as part of the visionary team delivering Destination 2045: Delivering Queensland's Tourism Future. As Principal Program Officer in the Destination 2045 Governance team, you'll work at the strategic helm, shaping governance frameworks, driving collaboration, and propelling the ambitions of this sweeping 20-year plan.

At its core, this role isn't just about driving outcomes; it's about building partnerships, solving challenges, and weaving together the ideas, perspectives, and priorities of diverse stakeholders to achieve a singular goal: ensuring Queensland remains Australia's top tourist destination.

What You'll Do:

  • Lead with purpose: Chart the course for governance and oversight by driving the Tourism Cabinet Committee and Interdepartmental Committee, shaping agendas, and ensuring strategic decision-making.
  • Create frameworks for success: Build efficient governance systems and reporting processes to monitor the progress and impacts of Destination 2045.
  • Champion collaboration: Cultivate strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring a unified effort around delivery goals.
  • Play the long game: Align committee agendas with broader goals, anticipate challenges, and provide insights to support evidence-based decisions.
  • Bring clarity to complexity: Transform data into actionable reports and dashboards that evaluate and communicate the progress of Destination 2045.

Why You?

You're experienced in governance, reporting, and program management - but more importantly, you understand how to bring clarity to complexity and foster collaboration. You thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment where every day is different, and every challenge is an opportunity. You're a forward-thinking and committed to delivering not just results, but real, meaningful impacts.

We're looking for someone who:

  • Knows how to deliver high-level secretariat and governance functions that navigate both commercial and Cabinet-in-Confidence obligations.
  • Thrives in balancing the strategic with the operational - whether managing competing priorities or delivering concise, high-impact briefing materials.
  • Can build bridges: You're a communicator, stakeholder engager, and negotiator at heart.
  • Values inclusiveness, positivity, and the importance of a thriving workplace culture.

This is your opportunity to help deliver a transformative whole-of-government tourism strategy while contributing to a positive, inclusive, and collaborative team culture. Apply today and join us in shaping Queensland's tourism future with Destination 2045.
