The purpose of the Project Officer role is to provide administrative support to program and project managers in successfully delivering the Queensland Transport and Road Investment Program (QTRIP) program of works.

Key responsibilities
Some of your responsibilities will include:
- Interpret and apply financial policies and procedures and provide advice and best practice solutions - by understanding the financial components applying to the delivery of projects.
- Prepare financial documents such as journals, goods receipts, invoices, requisitions and purchase orders
- Understand contemporary procurement practices in relation to the purchase of goods and services in the delivery of road infrastructure projects
- Coordinate and administer contract documentation relating to the QTRIP program and road infrastructure projects
- Undertake reporting on the program, projects and contracts to ensure accurate tracking, and to indicate the overall financial position and provide early warnings of deviations
- Update program, projects and contract information in project management software and systems (SAP, 3PCM, Primavera, Microsoft Excel)
- Ensure all departmental records and information is managed according to departmental standards and guidelines and capture information into the transport portfolio electronic document records management system
Mandatory qualifications and conditions
- Current holder of a “C” Class Driver's licence.
- Due to this role having access to sensitive data, a criminal history check will be undertaken prior to appointment to the role.
Requirements of the role
- Knowledge of financial management related to major infrastructure project delivery
- Demonstrated ability to apply a detailed knowledge of accounting concepts and processes as they relate to internal and external financial reporting.
- Proven ability to provide finance support for projects and infrastructure programs via interpretation and application of financial management practices at a district level as applicable to projects and program delivery.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain a high standard of practice through governance and risk management.
- Ability to build and sustain relationships within the organisation. Commitment to maintaining and advancing a culture of collaboration and participation.
