As our Project Officer, Contracts, you will play a key role in supporting the Department's research and commercialisation activities. You will provide expert advice and management support to ensure compliance with departmental operations while also driving the coordination and execution of contract research activities. Your work will directly contribute to the success of Queensland's research and innovation landscape.
In this role, you will:
- Provide sound advice and management support to staff on project and contract research issues, escalating matters as required.
- Administer and coordinate contract research activities, ensuring timely and accurate execution of contracts.
- Conduct training for staff on business tools and processes, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Prepare concise and accurate reports for senior management using relevant database and spreadsheet applications.
- Maintain and update the Contract Research tracking systems within the PARIS Project Management database and related filing systems.
- Assist with intellectual property protection submissions and the coordination of commercialisation agreements.
- Support the processing of milestone payments and raising of tax invoices.
What we are looking for
To succeed in this role, you will bring:
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage competing priorities effectively.
- Experience in contract administration, project management or a related field.
- Proficiency in using corporate business tools, databases and spreadsheet applications.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to provide clear advice and training to staff.
- A collaborative mindset and a commitment to fostering a positive and productive team environment.
- While not essential, experience in intellectual property management, commercialisation agreements or financial processes such as invoicing and milestone payments will be highly regarded.
