RoadTek Gold Coast is seeking a proactive and knowledgeable Advisor (TemporaryTraffic Management) to join our frontline operations team. This role is pivotal in supporting Project Managers and Operational staff by providing expert advice and guidance on Temporary Traffic Management (TTM) practices across civil construction and maintenance projects.
RoadTek is a commercial business within the Department of Transport and Main Roads. We provide transport infrastructure solutions for projects across Queensland. The purpose of the Advisor (Temporary Traffic Management) is to perform a frontline advisory and support role to managers and operational staff within the Infrastructure Management and Delivery (IMD) division of TMR, providing temporary traffic management (TTM) advice and support. The role will report to local operations, however, will also work with TTM practitioners across IMD.
Some of your responsibilities will include:
• Create and design simple and complex traffic guidance schemes (TGS) and traffic management plans (TMP) for the construction and maintenance projects in accordance with requirements, guidelines, and relevant standards.
• Monitor and inspect the compliance of temporary traffic management implementation.
• Plan and coordinate TTM technical training offerings and trial innovative TTM devices and practices.
• Read and understand the TTM Standing Offer Arrangement (SOA) and assist with the performance management of traffic control companies and sub-contractors.
• Review the TMPs and TGSs prepared by externals and ensure adequate risk assessment and safety provisions.
• Support local workers, supervisors and managers through the provision of TT training, on site education, role coaching, and mentoring.
• Work collaboratively with peers across other regions to champion and lead the RoadTek focus on capability uplift in the TTM function.
Mandatory qualifications and conditions
• Due to this role having access to sensitive data, a criminal history check will be undertaken prior to appointment to the role.
• Applicants must possess a current, valid Queensland "C" class driver's licence or equivalent.
• You may be required to travel to other locations within Queensland to undertake activities for varying periods of time. You will be entitled to expenses and allowances for such travel.
Desirable requirements
• A Traffic Management Designer (TMD) qualification.
Requirements of the role
• Solid experience in creating simple and complex TMPs and TGSs using industry standard programs.
• Knowledge of temporary traffic management technical documents.
• Experience in ongoing monitoring of TTM implementation and performance.
• Embraces change and leads with focus and optimism in an environment of complexity and ambiguity.
• Builds and sustains relationships to enable the collaborative delivery of customerfocused outcomes.
• Thinks laterally to generate options and identifies long term consequences to justify appropriate solutions.
• TMR has a Drug and Alcohol Policy which applies to all Employees, Workers and Visitors to TMR workplaces. This may include random, post incident and reasonable suspicion testing during employment to ensure a safe and healthy workplace.
