Principal Program Officer
Office of the Special Commissioner for Regional & Rural Queensland; Townsville
Based in Townsville, The Principal Program Officer for the Special Commissioner will establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders ensuring effective liaison and consultation between government, and those living and working in regional and rural Queensland. You will support the Special Commissioner and Director with network and regional stakeholder interactions across the state.
The Special Commissioner for Regional and Rural Queensland will amplify the voice of regional Queensland within government to improve the delivery of government services in regional and rural communities. Working closely with the Department, the Special Commissioner will focus on advising Government on the opportunities for increased efficiency or effectiveness in the work of state government agencies delivering for regional and rural Queensland.

This function will serve as a conduit between government, industry and communities, advising on systemic barriers to the delivery of government services in a way that reflect the needs, expectations and aspirations of regional communities, and drive the implementation of government strategic priorities.
Your support will enable the team to deliver Queensland's commitment to building a better lifestyle through a stronger economy, by driving economic diversification of emerging and established initiatives across regional and rural Queensland. This work will ensure that current policies and programs are well understood and utilised by regional and rural Queenslanders.
