The role of the Case Support Worker in the Regional Intake Service is to provide efficient and effective administrative and client support services to assist in the delivery of intake and assessment services, including support for relevant assessment functions, in accordance with legislation and practice guidelines. Tasks may include, but not limited to, supporting Intake staff with receiving and directing incoming phone calls and other correspondence, assisting with written and verbal requests for information, referrals to services, feedback to notifiers, data input, supporting the reporting and transfer of information. The role does not involve direct casework or decision-making responsibilities.

The role of the Case Support Worker in the Regional Intake Service is to provide efficient and effective administrative and client support services to assist in the delivery of intake and assessment services, including support for relevant assessment functions, in accordance with legislation and practice guidelines. Tasks may include, but not limited to, supporting Intake staff with receiving and directing incoming phone calls and other correspondence, assisting with written and verbal requests for information, referrals to services, feedback to notifiers, data input, supporting the reporting and transfer of information.

The role does not involve direct casework or decision-making responsibilities.

As a Case Support Worker you will:

  • Ensure that service delivery is consistent with departmental policies and procedures and departmental objectives.
  • Follow guidelines and implement processes in relation to records management, finance and other administrative and practice related policies and procedures. 
  • Provide culturally appropriate support to children, families and stakeholders including referral, provision of information, advocacy and consultation.
  • Consult and liaise with relevant stakeholders and service providers to implement and maintain appropriate casework and individualised service plans to achieve positive outcomes. 
  • Participate effectively as a team member and work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team. 
  • Prepare reports/documents and maintain accessible and clear case records consistent with departmental case management requirements. 
  • Use, update and monitor relevant databases to support the case management functions of the Child Safety Service Centre. 
  • Develop and maintain knowledge relevant to the role and actively participate in appropriate learning and development processes.
