This role is critical in strengthening how we manage workplace and non-workplace injuries and illness, ensuring our people are supported, and enabling better outcomes across health and wellbeing.

As the Senior Consultant Health and Wellbeing, you will work in a small team and provide operational specialist advice and support in respect of all occupational health and wellbeing matters affecting OIR's operations. You will report to the Principal Consultant Health and Wellbeing and work in effective partnership with all business areas to ensure the design and delivery of contemporary best practice and effective health and wellbeing management strategies and programs.

Key responsibilities include but not limited to:
• Perform the functions of Rehabilitation and Return to Work (RRTW) Coordinator as outlined in the Workers Compensation and Rehabilitation Act 2003, to assist the department discharge its legal obligations and facilitate safe and early return to work of injured and ill workers.
• Contribute to the coordination and implementation of wellbeing and injury management strategies including the health and wellbeing management policies, procedures and initiatives to meet OIR's business needs and legislative requirements
• Manage a portfolio of varied health management matters. Deliver high level consultancy services, advice and recommendations on matters relating to work health and wellbeing, including the effective management of common law claims, complex injury management matters, WorkCover claims, Insurance claims and return to work programs within a complex environment.
• Coordinate recovery or stay at work plans by liaising with health care providers, employees and their manager, including communicating the needs and restrictions of the workplace to ensure any workplace accommodations are reasonable and practical.
• Provide training and resources to managers and employees about injury management practices ensuring that everyone is informed about best practices for workplace safety and recovery.
• Manage complex and confidential administrative tasks associated with workplace injuries, helping to streamline the return-to-work process including updating case files registers etc.
