Seeking a diligent and proactive Finance Officer to join our team. Working knowledge of Queensland Government finance policies, procedures and systems highly regarded.
As a key member of the Digital Investment & Strategy team within the Department of Customer Services, Open Data and Small and Family Business, you will assist in the delivery of a range of finance solutions and provide administrative and support services to facilitate the efficient and effective operation of finance systems and processes across all Digital Investment & Strategy business areas.

The Digital Investment & Strategy team within the Department of Customer Services, Open Data and Small and Family Business provides strategic leadership, policy, design management and advice on the government's investment in customer, digital and information and communication technology (ICT). We collaborate across government to lead, facilitate and co-ordinate whole-of-government customer, digital and ICT strategy, policies and standards to enable and support agencies to deliver accessible Queensland Government services.
As a key member of the team, you will assist in the delivery of a range of finance solutions and provide administrative and support services to facilitate the efficient and effective operation of finance systems and processes across all Digital Investment & Strategy business areas.
As the Finance Officer, you will:
• Work independently within tight time constraints, especially around end of month and end of financial year.
• Manage, monitor and action requests that come into the shared mailbox. This includes but is not limited to seeking approvals, processing and raising invoices, purchase orders, and other ad hoc finance requests.
• Support the delivery of efficient, effective and economical transactional processing services (including accounts payable and account receivable), both internal and external to the department.
• Compile, maintain and present accurate, timely and reliable financial data for a range of reporting and reconciliation purposes including for open purchase orders and contracts.
• Provide informative, timely and quality advice to internal business areas on invoice management and customer accounts.
• Monitor and cross-check all travel and approvals prior to actioning payments or reimbursements.
• Utilise your effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to form and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, customers and key stakeholders.
• Work as a member of a team by participating in team meetings and support team initiatives and members when required
