As our Manager, Legislation and Regulation, you will:

The opportunity
As our Manager, Legislation and Regulation, you will:
• Lead and manage the effective delivery of legislative policy projects by providing expertise in the development of legislation products, ensuring the objectives and related activities of the unit are achieved to the highest standards.
• Prepare and provide comprehensive, high-quality, and timely strategic advice to the Director-General, the Office of the Minister, and senior departmental staff on legislative issues, opportunities, risk mitigation strategies, contentious matters, and successes, as required.
• Provide effective leadership, direction, and motivation to support a skilled workforce that is client-focused, engaged, and informed about the business, and ready to meet the challenges of changing business and customer needs.
• Actively support the implementation of relevant Queensland Government policies.
• Actively contribute to, and/or ensure (as applicable), the development of operational plans, reporting, and monitoring of financial and human resource objectives, while contributing to strategic planning processes.
• Work across the department to build a collaborative community of practice that supports departmental strategic and operational imperatives.
Essential requirements
• Experience in leading legislation development projects, for example, bills and significant subordinate legislation, or demonstrated ability to rapidly acquire the knowledge.
• Demonstrated ability to engage with internal and external stakeholders on complex legislative development projects.
• Experience in successfully leading and supporting teams and program management to achieve organisational goals and objectives.
• High-level analytic, conceptual and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to effectively provide authoritative advice to senior and executive management using advanced, effective oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to effectively engage, negotiate and influence to achieve organisational goals.
