Sport and Racing delivers quality services by providing responsive and integrated support services for sport, recreation and racing opportunities for all Queenslanders.
The team drives grassroots sport participation across the State through programs and services while also delivering the capital planning, build and maintenance program for the Department of Sport, Racing and Olympic and Paralympic Games (the Department).
Ultimately the Department plays a key role in enabling Queensland's Sport Strategy and delivering the Government's commitments and priorities.
Sport and Racing supports and encourages participation and success in sport, active recreation and racing.
In this role you will:
• Leading and coordinating the design, development, implementation and evaluation of projects and initiatives focused on person-centred human service planning and integrated service delivery, including opportunities for co-designing.
• Applying project management methodology to deliver timely, high quality project outcomes, managing risks and emerging issues, identifying opportunities for improvement and preparing project management documents.
• Developing, designing and implementing project plans for low to medium complexity projects that meet agreed performance criteria (e.g. within scope, budget, schedule, quality).
• Being a lead member of multi-disciplinary and cross-service area teams and collaborating with key internal and external stakeholders to identify solutions, resolve issues and risks in order to deliver priority projects.
• Building and sustaining effective, collaborative working relationships with team members and diverse internal and external stakeholders to leverage resources and technical expertise.
• Developing and contributing to the implementation of flexible and responsive governance mechanisms for projects.
• Leading objective, systematic research and the analysis and interpretation of complex data to provide authoritative, evidence based and timely strategic advice to senior managers.
• Preparing high quality documentation, reports, correspondence, briefing notes, plans, submissions, presentations and other documentation as required.
• Contribute to a workplace culture based on values and behaviours, ensuring a positive work environment that is safe, healthy, diverse, respectful and inclusive.
Note:
The position may undertake travel to city, regional and remote locations including overnight stays and will require occasional travel to remote locations including overnight stays. Some communities have alcohol management plans and restrictions in place. Field work may be subject to travelling over rough and flooded terrain and severe weather conditions, with thunderstorms, monsoon rains and extreme heat.
