Join Transport and Main Roads as an AO4 Finance Officer and play a key role supporting the delivery of vital transport infrastructure across Southern Queensland. In this role you will provide financial, procurement and business support to district teams delivering the Queensland Transport and Roads Investment Program. You will work across budgeting, reconciliations, procurement processes, contract administration and broader business support activities, contributing to strong governance and efficient program delivery.
We are looking for someone with sound financial and procurement knowledge, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a busy, delivery focused environment.

As an AO4 Finance Officer, you will provide end‑to‑end finance, procurement and business support services to enable the effective delivery of transport infrastructure and maintenance programs within the Southern Queensland Region. Working closely with operational and technical teams, you will support budgeting, financial reporting, reconciliations, audits, procurement activities and contract administration. Your work will contribute directly to sound financial governance, compliance with legislative and departmental requirements, and the efficient delivery of the district's Transport and Roads Investment Program.
Key responsibilities
In this role you will:
- Interpret and apply financial and procurement legislation, policies and procedures
- Deliver financial services including accounts payable and receivable, reconciliations, audits and budget monitoring
- Support procurement activities and administer contracts in line with organisational requirements
- Provide business support across areas such as fleet, facilities, travel, records management and insurance claims
- Assist with scheduling and administration to support project and program delivery
- Use systems such as SAP, 3PCM and Microsoft Excel to monitor financial and delivery performance
- Contribute to continuous improvement, consistency of practices and effective governance
- Provide guidance and support to less experienced staff as required
About you
You will bring well‑developed financial and administrative skills, an understanding of governance and risk management, and the ability to work collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders. You are organised, adaptable and committed to delivering high‑quality outcomes in a busy operational environment. Experience using financial and procurement systems and strong Excel skills will be well regarded. A current C class driver licence is required.
