EDQ plays a critical role in unlocking land for housing supply both in Priority Development Areas (PDAs) and on surplus Government land. The Development Services division within EDQ enables new housing, commercial and mixed-use development across Queensland through planning, development approvals and a significant infrastructure funding program.
Working in a multidisciplinary team, you will contribute to all aspects of the PDA lifecycle including providing input into development schemes, network infrastructure planning, development assessment and compliance assessment.
As Manager, Engineering, Development Services, you will:
• Provide technical leadership and direction to the team in relation to transport, stormwater, water and sewerage infrastructure matters to drive integrated and sustainable engineering outcomes.
• Lead the development of team capability to drive high performance, continuous improvement and a customer focused culture.
• Build high level relationships with key internal and external stakeholders including industry, local government, water utilities and other authorities to facilitate timely and integrated high-quality strategic or statutory infrastructure planning outcomes.
• Lead the assessment of highly complex development applications in line with legislative and policy requirements.
• Review delivered and committed infrastructure against infrastructure strategies for existing PDAs, consider future infrastructure requirements and provide strategic infrastructure planning advice to inform updates and/or development of planning instruments.
• Prepare and present high quality professional written information, interpretations, briefings, presentations and reports.
• Work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement business process improvements relevant to work practices.
Success in this role requires:
• A four-year, Washington Accord accredited, Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) or equivalence which is assessed/accepted by Engineers Australia against Washington Accord benchmarks.
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the delivery of engineering development assessment and compliance advice on complex integrated land use and infrastructure planning matters.
• Demonstrated experience applying relevant planning and development legislation and policy.
• Demonstrated experience providing technical leadership, mentoring and direction to team members.
• Advanced interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to negotiate complex infrastructure outcomes across a range of stakeholders.
