Sport and Racing delivers quality services by providing responsive and integrated support services for sport, recreation and racing opportunities for all Queenslanders. The team drives grassroots sport participation across the State through programs and services while also delivering the capital planning, build and maintenance program for the Department of Sport, Racing and Olympic and Paralympic Games (the Department).
Ultimately the Department plays a key role in enabling Queensland's Sport Strategy and delivering the Government's commitments and priorities. Sport and Racing supports and encourages participation and success in sport, active recreation and racing.
This is your opportunity to:
* Review, interpret and analyse policy and legislation proposals (usually through discussion papers and Cabinet submissions) and provide quality and timely written and/or verbal advice regarding any implications for department business and the sport and active recreation sectors.
* Undertake research on physical activity trends and issues globally by drawing upon a wide range of sources including research reports, policies and legislation.
* Prepare Ministerial and other correspondence, briefings, Executive Council Minutes and Cabinet Submissions.
* Represent Sport and Racing in a professional manner and provide expert technical advice in dealings with internal and external clients.
* Communicate confidently, clearly and succinctly, including in written messages, correspondence and briefing notes.
* Build and sustain positive relationships with team members and with staff the department and in other government agencies.
* Contribute to a workplace culture based on values and behaviours, ensuring a positive work environment that is safe, healthy, diverse, respectful and inclusive.
