Fairview Heights State School is seeking an experienced Cleaner for our beautiful school. If you are motivated, dependable, and take pride in maintaining a clean and safe environment, we would love to hear from you.

This position is being offered with permanent and temporary hours.

51.5hrs per fortnight permanent hours and an additional temporary 24.5hrs per fortnight temporary hours (Temporary hours available until 12 December 2026 unless otherwise determined)

Split shifts will be required - Early Morning and Afternoon shifts.

Fairview Heights State School is located on six hectares of beautifully landscaped grounds in the north-western outskirts of Toowoomba. About the Role:

Provide high-quality cleaning support to maintain an efficient and effective school environment, ensuring all duties are completed to the required standard in line with the approved cleaning program.

About you:

The successful applicant will:

  • Have a positive, can-do attitude
  • Be reliable and hardworking
  • Be able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Have sound knowledge relating to the use of cleaning chemicals and equipment

Responsibilities:

  • Cleaning windows, pictures, doorknobs, taps, sinks, drinking fountains, lavatory basins, glassware, glass doors and cupboards.
  • Cleaning and sanitising toilet facilities and sick bays.
  • Cleaning and maintaining equipment.
  • Cobweb and mildew control, utilising extendable equipment as necessary.
  • Cleaning of concrete, bitumen, asphalt and paved surfaces.
  • Disposal of rubbish and litter control including removal of material from drains and gutters between and/or surrounding buildings.
  • Dusting including student and office furniture, equipment and fans.
  • Hosing, sweeping and vacuuming.
  • Removal of graffiti.
  • Vinyl/timber floor maintenance including buffing, stripping and polishing.

Essential Requirements:

  • Previous cleaning experience
  • Current Working with Children clearance (Blue Card)
  • Willingness to undertake a Departmental criminal history check
