In the role of a Water Officer, you will utilise your experience and knowledge and play a pivotal role to support efficient and sustainable management of Queensland's water resources.
We are looking for someone that can undertake the duties of:
• Maintaining accurate and up to date metered use data for ground and surface water resources including reporting and the identification of non-compliance.
• Manage access to water including monitoring and reporting on flows and take and the announcement of flow events.
• Undertake investigations, approvals, and make recommendations on water applications and dealings under the Water Act 2000, Water Regulation 2016 and subordinate legislation relating to water dealings.
• Prepare and review technical and investigation reports, correspondence, and briefings on water entitlement management in a clear, concise, and professional manner.
• Consult, liaise and provide advice to user groups, the general public, staff and Government agencies on water and resource management matters to achieve sustainable and compliant water use practices.
• Prioritise and coordinate workflow processes, managing multiple and conflicting deadlines to achieve performance targets in accordance with departmental priorities and objectives.
• Engage clients in the resolution of issues associated with competing demands for water and associated resources.
• Other duties as directed and required.
