The North Coast Regional office of the Department of Trade, Employment and Training comprises 38 staff members who strive to increase a skilled workforce for the North Coast region through collaborative working relationships with industry, employers, registered training organisations, community organisations and other key stakeholders.
Specifically the regional office administers the Further Education and Training Act 2014, monitors apprentices and trainees through to successful completion, undertakes monitoring and performance activities for Skilling Queenslanders for Work projects. Engaging with industry and employers to identify opportunities to improve their employment and/or training outcomes and delivers a range of stakeholder engagement activities including an annual regional Queensland Training Awards event to celebrate the achievements of vocational education and training stakeholders.
About the role
We're looking for a results-driven individual who is passionate, positive and dedicated with extensive management expertise. The Manager is a key member of the regional leadership team, supporting the Regional Director to achieve efficient and effective service delivery by driving accountability and performance across the region, with a collaboration and growth mindset. By fostering strong relationships with stakeholders, translating policy direction into operational activities and supporting your team's growth and development, you will ensure the successful delivery of the Regional Programs.
This role may be based from any DTET North Coast regional office location, including Maroochydore, Maryborough or North Lakes. Regular travel across the North Coast Region is required.
What we are looking for
The position requires an applicant who can:
• Build relationships and partnerships with stakeholders, including industry, employers, training providers, and community organisations to identify emerging trends within industry sectors and the VET system.
• Facilitate solutions to support the workforce needs of industry groups, employers and disadvantaged jobseekers.
• Ensure the objectives and key performance indicators of regional programs and initiatives are achieved including preparing and presenting comprehensive performance reports that support the region's operational plan and performance delivery targets.
• Develop and maintain administrative processes and systems to ensure the provision of accurate, reliable and appropriate data that meets the reporting requirements across a wide range of regional programs and services.
