Housing Development's contribution is to deliver innovation and accountable program development and project management supporting the Department's investment in housing supply. We work collaboratively with not-for-profit, for-profit and government partners to achieve a more effective and integrated service system and improved long-term outcomes for clients requiring housing and homelessness assistance, and manage a variety of contracts for the delivery of new community housing supply.
What you will be doing:
- Conduct sound end-to-end contract management practices which deliver appropriate service responses to contracted partners, by managing performance, compliance, monitoring and reporting, in alignment with funding agreements, legislation, department policies, frameworks, best practice standards, program specifications and guidelines.
- Contribute to and preparing advice on housing supply issues and inform program and project development on strategic issues supporting the delivery of increased social and affordable housing supply.
- Undertake research and analysis to support evidence-informed decision making frameworks supporting the implementation of the Queensland Community Housing Investment Pipeline.
- Prepare high quality written materials and communications including briefs, correspondence, reports, submissions, proposals, presentations, legislative support, media and event materials, in a timely and professional manner, consistent with departmental guidelines.
- Maintain professional awareness and understanding of the social housing system and in the context of the broader human service response expected of the department.
- Contribute to the ongoing development and delivery of social housing through working groups and on projects.
- Build and maintain productive working relationships with key internal and external partners and stakeholders.
- Contracting and managing funded providers under the Housing Act 2003, capital funding agreements, department policies, Program Specifications and Guidelines.
- Work effectively as a member of a team to support and deliver projects and tasks, including by providing project management and administrative support.
- Support and help maintain a workplace safety culture by ensuring that all policies and practices concerning Workplace Health and Safety are applied and a part of day-to-day operations.
Mandatory Requirement
There are no mandatory qualifications needed for this role, however, sound knowledge, skills or experience of social policy issues, reform and legislative processes is highly desirable.
