The primary accountabilities of the Correctional Manager, Business Services include:
- Develop and maintain reporting systems and processes for efficient financial performance and resource management, providing monthly analysis and advice on cost centre performance with a focus on highlighting relevant variances.
- Drive strategic/operational focus on logistics, including infrastructure, purchasing, procurement, and expenditure, service and commercial industries, while effectively managing budgets exceeding $40 million.
- Provide high level business management analysis and advice to centre management to ensure the delivery of quality, cost-effective services and actively contribute to the development and progress of annual efficiency savings initiatives.
- Support centre management in developing and implementing annual business plans, including activity levels, workforce, quality requirements, operating and capital budgets, and coordinating budget and forecasting preparation.
- Monitor and coordinate functions such as fleet management, stores, information technology and communications hardware and software, purchasing, property, facilities maintenance, infrastructure projects, capital purchasing, accounts payable/receivable, and maintenance of the Fixed Assets Register.
- Develop and write complex business cases and funding submissions to reflect the strategic and/or operational requirements of the centre, including capital and minor works submissions.
- Manage the development of a skilled and engaged team, identifying opportunities for ongoing learning & development, and coaching and mentoring team members.
- Foster a positive workforce culture to enable a motivated, productive, and service-oriented working environment.
- Lead demand planning, overseeing food services, managing customer services, coordinating front of house operations, handling correspondence, engaging with suppliers, and managing contract arrangements.
- Manage internal and external stakeholder relationships including business, industry, contractors, and related areas, while working with a significant budget and ensuring effective collaboration.
- Provide supervision and monitoring for emerging issues and risks that may arise outside of regular hours on a rotating 24x7 on-call basis; providing immediate and direct oversight, support and guidance to on-site Correctional Supervisors, and, the conduit to senior leadership for matters requiring higher delegation and / or briefing.
