You will lead and coordinate the engagement, negotiation and contracting arrangements with registered community housing providers to increase the supply of community-owned and managed social housing across Queensland. You will work collaboratively with community housing sector partners providing expert advice and guidance of the delivery of capital grant projects and effective program management.
What you will be doing:
- Provide financial, contractual and policy advice and recommendations regarding market proposals for the delivery of additional social and affordable housing.
- Build and share professional networks to support the delivery of new supply, including State, Federal and Local Governments, financiers, industry bodies, community housing providers, and not-for-profits.
- Negotiate contracting terms with community housing providers while advocating for the State's interests and actively manage a provider's performance and compliance under funding agreements.
- Maintain data integrity and perform regular reviews to ensure quality and accurate data is collected for business analysis and reporting purposes.
- Provide professional, expert, and timely advice to colleagues and senior management to inform strategy, direction, and problem-solving, while researching and preparing complex proposals, project plans, recommendations, submissions, and briefing papers.
- Develop and lead procurement activities to ensure fair and transparent processes are released to market on behalf of government.
- Effectively manage high-level projects to support the capital grant program, undertaking complex business analysis and reporting functions, including responding to urgent project information requests and addressing emerging policy and funding issues related to the National Regulatory System for Community Housing.
- Guide the department's investment in social housing through the development of housing assistance projects that are robust, evidence based and represent value for money.
- Apply your acquired knowledge of the Housing Act 2003 and relevant regulations to community housing proposals.
Mandatory Requirement
There are no mandatory qualifications needed for this role, however, a working knowledge of National Regulatory System for Community Housing, the Queensland community housing sector, and funding initiatives for the delivery of community housing supply will be highly regarded.
