You will be an important member of a corporate team in the Queensland Police Service working in the North Brisbane District Office located in in Brisbane City. You will be expected to effectively manage all administrative functions of the District Office.
In your role you will work personally with the District Officer, at the rank of Chief Superintendent, the Senior Sergeant - Support Officer to the Chief Superintendent and a AO3 Administration Officer. District Office has two Assistant District Officers of Superintendent rank who are each supported by a Sergeant - Support Officer and an AO3 Administration Officer. You will be required to supervisor, train, mentor and develop the three AO3 Administration Officers to ensure the smooth and effective operation of the District Office.
Further managerial support is delivered by the Workforce Coordinator and District Business Coordinator, and you may also work and liaise with them. This is an office role and is driven by assisting the Senior Leadership Team of the District Officer and Assistant District Officers to lead North Brisbane District. Key drivers are to support and empower the district's workforce and to practically operationalise successful initiatives and outcomes to keep the community safe and secure.
- Supervise, train, mentor and develop staff members, including participation in the recruitment and selection of staff members.
- Research and review people management issues and provide potential solutions and advice including managing performance reviews for staff members.
- Maintain leave management systems, identify absenteeism trends, audit QPS personnel leave, and staff members rosters.
- Provide direct high level support and advice to District Officers to identify, develop and implement improvements to systems, processes and procedures.
- Provide high level District administrative support including monitoring email accounts, preparation and distribution of correspondence, records and assets disposal, and equipment stocktakes and audits.
- Liaise with external and internal clients and stakeholders, including managing internal Right to Information (RTI), Ministerial correspondence and external requests for information.
- Manage and coordinate financial reporting systems and budgetary returns, monitor expenditure including special services, accounts and assets management.
- Provide facilities management and co-ordinate maintenance, improvements and renovations, negotiate with external contractors, manage and review ad-hoc maintenance and cleaning.
