Senior Intelligence Officer
State Intelligence Group; Crime Command; Specialist Operations; Brisbane City
You will work as part of the Digital Intelligence and Community Engagement Team including managing the QDesk function within the Crime Command. The QDesk team provides intelligence support to the frontline across the state and coordinates the dissemination of daily reports. You will also assist with social media collection, analysis, research and reporting.
The Digital Intelligence and Community Engagement Team operates within an inclusive and dynamic working environment. Your role is an integral part of the intelligence leadership team providing advice and guidance on open source and social media materials.

Your key accountabilities
The core capability requirements for this role are:
• Identify, research, analyse and develop strategic intelligence options and advice on major crime and community safety issues.
• Prepare timely and well-researched submissions, briefs, notes and correspondence on behalf of Queensland Police Service managers.
• Represent the Intelligence Capability as requested at inter-departmental and inter-governmental meetings.
• Work collaboratively across the intelligence capability and with other government and non-government agencies and individuals.
• Lead and facilitate intelligence capability, coordination, collaboration and industry engagement to achieve sound intelligence related outcomes.
• Facilitate the provision of accurate, evidence-based information and education on strategic intelligence issues and effective intelligence processes to all key stakeholders.
• Utilise technology to provide open source and social media enhancement to support organisational priorities.
Role Requirements
Technical/ Operational/ Educational experience
• A knowledge of online intelligence collection techniques will be highly regarded.
Other
• The successful applicant will be required to perform duty at any business location where intelligence capability is required.
• The successful applicant/s must undertake intelligence training delivered by the Queensland Police Service in line with current policy.
• The successful applicant/s will be required to undergo psychometric assessment prior to appointment.
• Applicants are advised that whilst performing the duties of the position they may be exposed to material (written, visual and audio) of a graphic and sensitive nature.
• Applicants must be eligible to obtain and maintain a security clearance to the minimum level of Negative Vetting Level 1.
• Shift work may be a requirement of this role, including afternoons, weekends and nights.
