Waterford State School is seeking a passionate team member to join our great school. The successful applicant will have a strong sense of empathy and genuine care for students that enables them to build positive and predictable relationships with students and families.
An understanding of trauma informed practices, social emotional learning and inclusive education is very beneficial to this role. Strong behaviour management through clear routines, calm classrooms and explicit teaching of expectations is essential. Professional development will be provided 'on the job' in explicit instruction, structured literacy and other signature programs. Teachers at our school thrive when they connect with other staff to learn and grow in their profession. Our school boasts extra NCT to deliver PLTs, extra-curricular programs and a strong focus on building Waterford Warrior Culture for staff and students.
Our school operates in teaching teams with a 'teacher learning hub' to support professional development for all staff. Early career teachers are supported through mentoring and coaching. Our Setting Professional Goals process is valuable and assists teachers to reach aspirational goals.
