About the Role

As a Data Engineer, you'll play a pivotal role in building and managing QLeave's enterprise data platform. You'll be a technical expert with a passion for transforming complex data from multiple sources into reliable, accessible insights. This is your chance to work on critical data infrastructure while collaborating with a team dedicated to innovation and service excellence. You will be at the forefront of QLeave's data-driven transformation. Designing, implementing, and optimising secure, scalable pipelines and models that support better decision-making across our business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the design, development, transformation, presentation and maintenance of data assets and data architecture solutions.
  • Ensure architecture and infrastructure for data is fit for purpose, adopts best practice principles and is designed for efficiency, including data collection, ingestion, transformation, storage and access.
  • Design, implement and deploy data collection and migration tools to combine data extracted from multiple data sources into a consistent structure in databases and data lake.
  • Ensure data management best practices across all stages of data lifecycle, ensuring activities are performed in accordance with data governance protocols.
  • Apply appropriate security controls to data to ensure the right people get the right access to the right data.

What We're Looking For

QLeave appointments are based on selecting the eligible applicant best suited to the position. We will assess your application based on your experience, potential for development, and your personal qualities. For this role, we will consider how well you:

  • Apply technical data engineering skills to process diverse datasets methodically
  • Design and manage data Lakehouse architecture aligned with best practices, governance, and security
  • Build and maintain scalable automated pipelines for data collection, transformation, and loading
  • Analyse and resolve issues related to performance, data quality, constraints, and unstructured data
  • Demonstrate expertise in PowerBI, Azure SQL Databases, On-Premises SQL Databases, Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Factory, T-SQL, and Python
