About the role

This position provides a unique opportunity to develop your legal expertise within a rewarding area of law that directly impacts the lives of individuals and communities.

Whether your background is in another legal field or you're taking the next step in your career, all you need is a passion for civil law and helping vulnerable clients. Our Emerging Lawyer Program will support you with hands-on experience, expert supervision, and professional development opportunities to build your future in civil law.

You'll be at the frontline of advocating for fairness, tackling issues such as anti-discrimination, human rights, employment law, consumer protection, social security appeals, National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) disputes, and farm debt mediation. This is meaningful, challenging work that drives positive outcomes for individuals and communities facing hardship.

About you

  • A passion for social justice and a commitment to helping people overcome legal challenges.
  • Admission or eligibility for admission as a legal practitioner in Queensland, with an active practising certificate.
  • A genuine interest in civil law and the ability to apply legal knowledge to support vulnerable clients.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a focus on fairness, empathy, and professionalism.
  • A commitment to ongoing learning and development in civil law and related areas.
