As a Planning Support Officer, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the strategic and operational planning functions of the National Fire Ant Eradication Program. Your work will involve collecting and analysing data to inform decision-making, contributing to the development and refinement of program strategies, and ensuring risks are effectively monitored and managed. By providing high-quality reports and recommendations, you will help guide operational planning, progress monitoring, and the delivery of program outcomes. This role requires a proactive and analytical approach to support the program's mission of eradicating fire ants.

Key Responsibilities and Outputs:

Data Analysis and Reporting: Collect and analyse information to draft reports and recommendations that support operational planning, progress monitoring, and strategic decision-making.

Strategy Development: Contribute to the creation, review, and communication of comprehensive strategies that guide treatment, surveillance, and operational activities.

Risk Monitoring: Support the identification, monitoring, and assessment of existing and emerging risks to ensure program deliverables are achieved effectively.

Operational Guidance: Assist in documenting and updating program strategies to provide clear guidance for staff and support operational decision-making.

Research and Innovation: Research and evaluate adaptive strategies for managing new infestations and technical challenges, contributing to effective risk analysis and planning activities.

Technical Expertise: Leverage practical knowledge of tools such as ArcGIS/ArcPro and project scheduling software to analyse spatial data, support risk assessments, and enhance planning and scheduling processes.
