This Director (DPMO) role contributes to the oversight of a complex and high-value rail investment pipeline, supporting the successful delivery of approximately $14 billion in projects over four years. You will play a key role on the sequencing, optimisation, prioritisation and commissioning of rail infrastructure projects priorities aligned to government objectives.
Key responsibilities
• Leading a team of technical experts to coordinate the significant rail infrastructure portfolio, while supporting the long-term sustainability of the rail network during a period of substantial capital investment in South-East Queensland.
• Monitoring, evaluating, and reporting on the effectiveness of the rail portfolio,
• Identifying, monitoring and assessing key interface and integration issues across major rail projects, programs, and related initiatives.
• Applying decision support frameworks and tools to achieve best-for-portfolio outcomes that balance customer needs, project delivery, and operations requirements.
• Leveraging data and reporting to proactively identify critical resource thresholds, enabling the reprioritisation and optimisation of the network during disruptions.
• Providing specialist expertise and professional advice to senior leaders by preparing comprehensive options papers, brief materials, and other artefacts to support informed decision-making and ensure the successful transition, integration, and implementation of major rail projects.
About you
We are looking for an experienced and strategic leader with the ability to influence across a complex infrastructure environment and drive integrated, whole-of-network outcomes.
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
• Experience in delivering major rail projects delivery, including scheduling, track possession, network disruption planning, and the management of rail programs within a large complex organisation.
• Qualifications in one or more of the following: Transport Planning, Engineering, Construction, Program Management, Business or Public Sector Administration.
• Experience in the infrastructure industry is necessary for success in this role, including all aspects of the business of commercial infrastructure delivery and asset management.
• A strong understanding of the rail landscape in Queensland would be highly regarded.
