The role of Manager, Co Responder is to lead and manage the South-East Region Youth Co Responder teams Logan and Gold Coast ensuring the provision of effective high-quality services and support for the development and further enhancement of Co Responders across youth justice service delivery.
The role works within the Regional Service Delivery Operations Directorate and manages Co Responder practice enhancement initiatives across the full continuum of Youth Justice including early intervention, community and detention-based settings with the aim of supporting young people to divert away from formal justice intervention and to reduce their reoffending.

As Manager, you will specifically:
- Participate as a member of the regional leadership team and contribute to strategic and operational planning, reviews and key decision-making.
- Work closely with the state-wide services team and Youth Justice Service Centre managers with South-East to provide high level leadership and management of the Youth Justice Co Responder teams by ensuring effective and high quality, innovative and practical responses to the strategic priorities identified.
- Remotely oversee the coordination and management of staff, who are providing outreach services in collaboration with Queensland Police Services, including oversight of Youth Justice initiatives, and ensure that the intended outcomes are achieved.
- Manage human, financial and physical resources, including project specific teams ensuring effective governance, a culture of client services and the achievement of outputs required.
- Represent the department in all liaisons, negotiations and partnerships, through the development and maintenance of productive professional relationships with a diverse range of key stakeholders from the government (including the Queensland Police Service), corporate and non-government sectors, and industry peak bodies.
- Actively participate in and, where appropriate, lead local are forums with government and non-government stakeholders, promoting a positive and accountable public image and the development of productive partnerships to support service delivery outcomes.
- Identify and provide advice on infrastructure requirements relevant to the Co Responder initiative and, where necessary, coordinate and oversee the provision of these within resource constraints.
- Provide proactive high-level support, advice and information to regional management and other directorates in relation to youth justice service outcomes, development of service delivery and improvement strategies, staff training, professional development and performance agreements.
- Forster a culture and philosophy of frontline service delivery, cooperation, teamwork, high quality people management, commitment to excellence and a professional ethic which ensures that Co Responder services continue to meet the department's priorities.
- Allocate, prioritise, perform and quality assure individual tasks in accordance with departmental procedures and statutory, financial and administrative delegations.
- Oversee data capturing, to ensure quality and consistency, including reporting to direct line managers on the progress of the model, where required.
- Contribute to a departmental culture that ensures sensitive and effective communication with people from other cultures including people from Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander backgrounds and be responsive to cultural protocols to ensure they are embedded in service delivery.
