The Queensland Revenue Office (QRO) is currently recruiting for multiple AO4 Debt Resolution Officers within the Revenue Contact Centre and Collections division. Based in our Brisbane office, you will work in a collaborative team to deliver excellent debt resolution and collection services. Adopting a client centric approach, you will engage with clients and negotiate outcomes in challenging circumstances, including resolving escalations from within the team.
Your typical day as a Debt Resolution Officer may include:
• Answering client phone calls or written correspondence and applying debt management processes and effective negotiation techniques to resolve enquiries, ensuring a positive client experience and management of the debt pool.
• Working with debtors to resolve outstanding debts and providing information on how to meet compliance and obligation requirements – this involves inbound and outbound correspondence
• Negotiating and managing payment arrangements with debtors
• Initiating legal or administrative enforcement action when voluntary compliance fails
• Assisting in developing strategies to improve debt recovery and taxpayer compliance
To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate:
• Resilience, patience and persistence and the ability to remain calm in challenging negotiations.
• A strong working knowledge of digital and data technology/systems.
• Capability to analyse, interpret and apply legislation and/or policy to achieve successful outcomes.
• High level of interpersonal and influential communication skills within a client-focused environment.
