Land Officer

Work as a Land Officer in regional Queensland (Mackay, Townsville or Longreach), delivering land dealings through analysis, advice and decision-making. You will assess state land matters, prepare submissions and provide practical guidance to stakeholders while supporting sustainable land management outcomes. This role suits someone with strong analytical skills who enjoys working across legislation, policy and community priorities.

As a Land Officer within Land and Surveying Services, you will contribute to the management of Queensland's state land by delivering high-quality land dealings and providing clear, practical advice. Working in a regional setting, you will support sustainable land outcomes that balance community, industry and government priorities.
In this role, you will assess and monitor state land dealings, analyse reports and prepare submissions and recommendations in line with the Land Act 1994. You will provide timely advice to stakeholders on legislative and procedural land requirements, including native title considerations. Your work will involve using departmental systems to manage records, identify opportunities to improve processes and contribute to team priorities. You will also collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders to deliver consistent and informed outcomes.
Success in this role looks like delivering accurate, well-reasoned advice, managing competing priorities effectively and contributing to continuous improvement. You will build strong working relationships and demonstrate sound judgement in complex or sensitive land matters.
