The role is within the Permissions Management and Ecotourism (PME) Branch, Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service and Partnerships Division (QPWS&P), Department of the Environment, Tourism, Science, and Innovation (DETSI).

The role leads a dynamic team to deliver an ongoing program of work of systems and business improvements to support the effective administration of permissions management across the QPWS&P managed estate and across Queensland for tourism permissions. The role coordinates the delivery of specific projects, including digital permitting systems, associated policies, procedures and governance arrangements to ensure quality services are delivered to customers, stakeholders and partners.

What you need for the role:
• Role model Team Leader leadership behaviours as outlined in the Leadership competencies for Queensland. 
• Demonstrated success in developing and implementing a program of work designed to improve permissions management. 
• Significant experience with program management in the public land management area and/or related industries and an in-depth knowledge of protected area management, permissions management, policy development and the associated legislation framework in Queensland. 
• Well-developed analytical and interpretation skills with proven problem-solving ability to support continuous improvement in the workplace. 
• Demonstrated high level project management skills with an ambition to drive results and achieve departmental objectives. 
• High level written and verbal communication skills, including interpersonal and negotiation skills. 
• Demonstrated ability to manage a team and implement systems to promote performance management, ethical behaviour and professional development. 
• Demonstrate how you can support our commitment to workplace safety, equity, diversity, respect and inclusion.
