About the role
You will provide central oversight and system-level assurance within a decentralised but coordinated Games delivery ecosystem. You will work across Games Delivery Partners, the Brisbane 2032 Organising Committee, the Australian Government, GIICA, key Queensland Government delivery departments, local government partners and other stakeholders, while recognising that each partner remains accountable through its own governance, risk and project management arrangements.
You will lead a small team in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, taking ownership of practical, innovative solutions that support clear, evidence-based decision-making across agencies, executives and Games governance forums. You will also play a pivotal role in designing and implementing the standards, frameworks and tools that enable OPGO to maintain an integrated, whole-of-Games perspective.
This includes tracking commitments, milestones, benefits, risks, interdependencies, reporting requirements and escalation pathways to support a consolidated view for senior governance, including the Games Executive Group and Games Leadership Group.
About You
You are a seasoned and strategic leader with a proven ability to operate in complex, high-profile delivery environments. You bring strong judgement, political acumen and the confidence to influence senior stakeholders across government, statutory bodies and delivery partners, while maintaining trusted relationships and a clear focus on whole-of-Games outcomes.
You have a strong sense of accountability and a record of delivering high-quality outcomes through professionalism, persistence and transparency. Your background includes portfolio, program or enterprise-level coordination in complex environments, ideally involving major events, government delivery or federated operating models where success depends on alignment, assurance, disciplined reporting and effective escalation.
We offer
This is a challenging and rewarding leadership role with the chance to contribute directly to the success of the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games — a historic milestone for Queensland and Australia. You will work at the centre of a multi-partner delivery system, supporting engagement with senior executives, CEOs, Chairs, Ministers and delivery leaders across the Games ecosystem. We offer competitive salary arrangements, salary packaging options, generous leave entitlements and a genuine focus on employee health and wellbeing, along with access to premium facilities and bike storage racks and services.
Applications to remain current for 12 months.
