In this role you will ensure a high level of community safety through managing the assessment and treatment of offenders incarcerated or subject to community- based supervision at dedicated delivery sites. This role also provides advice, recommendations and practice supervision in relation to assessment processes and program delivery at a local level.

The most suitable applicant will demonstrate their applied knowledge, skills and experiences against these essential role requirements of the position.

  • Experience in the provision of program supervision
  • Experience in the delivery of general and / or sexual offending programs
  • Ability to motivate, coach and mentor others to meet the challenges of demanding work roles  
  • Community engagement, key stakeholder liaison and/or working with special interest groups particularly in the criminal justice system
  • knowledge, interpretation and application of legislation, policies and procedures 
  • Demonstrated ability to prepare and supervise the preparation and provision of complex reports
  • Conceptual, analytical and problem-solving skills

Mandatory requirements

The following mandatory requirements apply to this role:

  • Possession of tertiary qualifications in psychology, social work, education or behavioural sciences.

Other conditions and requirements

  • Post graduate studies in a related field and affiliation with a relevant professional association will be highly regarded.
  • Appointment to the position of Senior Program Delivery Officer (SPDO) requires completion of intensive training to ensure newly appointed SPDOs are provided the necessary skills and information to deliver Queensland Corrective Services Offender Intervention programs. This training is a mandatory requirement following appointment to a Senior Program Delivery Officer position. You will be provided with program specific training in both content, delivery, and supervision methods. For Senior Program Delivery Officer's delivering sexual offending programs, you will be provided with training in the use of relevant assessment tools (STATIC-99R and STABLE-2007) to refer sex offenders to appropriate intervention programs.
  • There may be instances where the incumbent will be required to work hours outside the normal work hours, undertake travel to other locations, or temporarily work from an alternate location.
