This role is responsible for managing and leading medium-value procurement activities, supplier contracts, procurement education and information specific to Forensic Science Queensland. This role is to deliver required business outcomes and ensure compliance with the Queensland Procurement Policy 2026 and all other relevant governance policies and procedures.

Your key responsibilities
- Manage the end-to-end procurement process, including the development and coordination of sourcing documentation, release and evaluation processes, as well as contract negotiation, formation, management, and administration activities.
- Develop contracts with suppliers, aligning contractual obligations with delivery KPIs to enable ongoing contract performance.
- Ensure compliance with the Department of Justice reporting obligations by accurately and promptly completing contract disclosure reports and maintaining procurement and contract management data in the VendorPanel system.
- Provision of high-level advice to clients in a relevant, timely and accurate manner on matters relating to procurement and contract management functions. Provide high level advice and develop agreements across a broad range of commodities including general goods and services and ICT.
- Maintain a detailed documentary record of procurement processes, decisions and contractual arrangements undertaken ensuring the audit trail is adequately maintained and documented for probity, accountability and audit purposes.
- Exercise a Procurement Delegation for sourcing activities certifying that the procurement process undertaken has been in accordance with departmental policies and procedures and Queensland Procurement Policy 2026.
- Contribute to a high level of professional practice by maintaining a sound knowledge of contemporary procurement strategies, policies and practices; and an awareness of government priorities and initiatives that have implications for the procurement function.
