We are seeking applicants who, within the context of the role responsibilities, possess the following key attributes:
- Extensive record of achievement in leading and managing all facets of communications operations and capability development for a contemporary Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) based Operations Centre in a mission critical, ambulance service environment and the ability to deliver consistent, high quality call taking and dispatch services that meet organisational performance standards and community needs.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and manage the conceptualisation, design, planning, development, testing and implementation of complex Operations Centre communications solutions to achieve key performance indicators and strategic business objectives.
- Demonstrated ability to analyse complex issues and develop timely, high quality, well researched advice, options and strategies, including the proven capacity to identify, develop and implement new approaches and think in a strategic and creative way to provide innovative and effective solutions to new and existing issues.
- Extensive experience in risk assessment, evaluation and management; project and budget management; logistics; and procurement in an emergency service environment, and the proven ability to provide expert advice and contribute to the development of strategic policy and service planning initiatives.
- Demonstrated highly developed oral and written communication, negotiation, consultation and collaboration skills, with the ability to build and maintain productive relationships with a range of stakeholders and represent the QAS at a variety of state and national events, committee meetings and community/industry forums.
- Demonstrated commitment to implement practices which promote a fair and ethical workplace, employment equity, cultural diversity and occupational health and safety with a proven ability to effectively lead and motivate a multidisciplinary team of staff to achieve organisational outcomes.
