Join the Department of Youth Justice and Victim Support as a Manager Finance and Administration within the purpose-built Woodford Youth Detention Centre. Based in Brisbane CBD and Wacol initially with flexible working options and a view to be permanently based in Woodford, you will report directly to the Manager Business Support Services and lead, manage and oversee the administrative functions of the Youth Detention Centre to ensure that day to day financial, physical and support resources are managed professionally to align with departmental priorities, and to ensure the establishment of the centre.
This permanent, full-time role offers a rewarding opportunity to provide safe and purposeful detention to youth and contribute to safer Queensland communities.
Mandatory requirements of the role include a valid Blue Card.

Support the establishment and operationalising of the new Woodford Youth Detention Centre. This is an opportunity to contribute to the successful readiness and operation of a new centre and establish outstanding finance and administration processes.
As the Manager, Finance and Administration, you will specifically:
- Live the Qld Public Sector and organisational values to achieve outstanding outcomes for the organisation and young people.
- Lead and develop staff in the provision of services to the centre encompassing area's including finance, administration, records management, procurement, and stores.
- Coordinate acquisition, disposal, and maintenance of the Department's physical assets (other than land and buildings) in a cost-effective manner which minimises life-cycle costs and maximises the utility of the asset to the Department's core business.
- Support the Manager of Business Support Services in preparing annual estimates, center budget, cash flows, and expenditure targets for each fiscal year, including providing information on budget allocation for the Youth Detention Centre.
- Develop and oversee systems and processes to facilitate reporting on assets, finance, and administrative matters for the Centre.
- Implement and maintain governance frameworks to ensure adherence to public sector regulations, standards, policies, and procedure related to financial and administrative resources while offering expert guidance to address organisation challenges, fulfill financial responsibilities, and enhance service delivery.
- Lead and drive team management, work planning, coaching and professional development initiatives, to align resources to deliver high quality, efficient and compliant advice, services, and a positive customer experience.
- Develop, manage, and maintain effective customer relationships and partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to balance competing priorities, gain support and increase commitment to service delivery excellence.
