Principal Compliance Officer
Office of the CG; Coordinator General; Brisbane or Townsville
The Coordinator-General has statutory assessment, compliance, and enforcement responsibilities under the State Development and Public Works Organisation Act 1971 (SDPWO Act) and Strong and Sustainable Resource Communities Act 2017 (SSRC Act). As Principal Compliance Officer within the Office of the Coordinator General (OCG), you will apply your demonstrated expertise to ensure the efficient and effective delivery of those responsibilities. You may be appointed as an authorised officer under the SDPWO Act.
You will leverage your compliance experience to provide practical advice and support through the provision of a robust compliance function including monitoring, reporting and implementation framework. Working closely with internal and external stakeholders, you will use your exceptional communication skills to investigate compliance matters, strengthen stakeholder relationships.

- Provide high-level advice to senior management and operational project teams, including the preparation of relevant information/documentation on complex technical project and development compliance matters.
- Lead the effective and efficient coordination of compliance and statutory processes under the SDPWO Act and SSRC Act, including condition auditing and compliance monitoring for development approvals in State development areas under Part 6 of the SDPWO Act.
- Contribute to the effective and efficient delivery of compliance and enforcement actions and investigations under the SDPWO Act including collection of evidence.
- Develop and implement compliance programs within a portfolio and project management system and delivery framework that support project teams in the delivery of their statutory responsibilities, including training opportunities, practice guidance, and communication platforms.
- Coordinate and review development assessment and compliance processes that support achievement of the organisation's goals, and that incorporate continuous improvement of assessment and compliance services.
- Contribute to complex negotiations, and build effective connections and relationships with government agencies, community groups, infrastructure providers and the private sector.
- Perform other tasks as directed, including research, analysis and interpretation of complex issues relating to land use, infrastructure and major projects, and development assessment in State development areas.
