As a Finance Advisor you will be part of a team responsible for delivering financial services across various branches within the department.
The role involves a range of finance-related tasks, including preparation of general journal entries, prepayments, month end accruals, asset coordination & accounts payable/receivable, liaising with both internal and external stakeholders and any
other financial task assigned by your supervisor.
This position works closely with the budget and reporting team, providing exposure to diverse financial functions within a dynamic team environment.

In the role of the Finance Advisor, you will be accountable for providing timely and professional financial management services to our key stakeholder base (Enabling Solutions Group, Corporate Division branches and Director-General projects) for financial reporting, processing and advice. Some of your responsibilities will include:
• Undertake various tasks in relation to the creation of monthly branch financial reports, including preparation of general journal entries, prepayments, month end accruals, asset coordination and accounts payable/receivable.
• Investigate, analyse and resolve accounting and financial issues affecting branch financial information including liaison with branch clients and stakeholder groups to ensure financial information is accurate and reliable.
• Undertake financial reconciliations, take corrective actions as necessary and make recommendations to improve work processes and procedures to ensure ongoing data integrity.
• Support in the preparation, development and collation of budget submissions, budget reviews and forecasts.
• Maintaining personal expertise, data management skills and knowledge to provide professional advice in relation to financial management and reporting in accordance with legislation, accounting standards, government policies and frameworks, and departmental policies and procedures
