Step into an exciting opportunity with Transport and Main Roads (TMR) as the Senior Program Engagement Advisor for the Bruce Highway Targeted Safety Program (BHTSP). This $9 billion program focuses on improving safety along one of Queensland’s most vital transport corridors. Based flexibly across TMR locations, you will lead strategic internal and external communication and engagement activities to support the effective delivery of the BHTSP.

This includes media, engagement and strategic advice to the Program Management Office, and developing and implementing program-wide communication initiatives. You will work with internal stakeholder engagement teams, regions, & districts across the state to support & guide the successful delivery of this important program. About the role

We are looking for a proactive Senior Program Engagement Advisor (AO6) to join the Bruce Highway Targeted Safety Program - Program Management Office (BHTSP PMO). This role is flexible across TMR work locations and offers you the chance to contribute directly to improving the safety of Queensland's road network.

As the Senior Program Engagement Advisor, you will:

  • Lead strategic internal and external communication and engagement activities to support the effective delivery of the BHTSP.
  • Develop and implement program-wide communication strategies that ensure coordinated, consistent, and high-quality engagement aligned with program priorities.
  • Provide expert advice on media, engagement, and strategic communication to address complex issues, emerging risks, and stakeholder interests.
  • Manage digital engagement tools, prepare high-quality communication materials, and ensure alignment with program requirements across all outputs.
  • Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships to foster collaboration and achieve program outcomes, while identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.

What You'll Bring:

  • Proven ability to communicate clearly and effectively, tailoring messages to diverse stakeholders and providing non-technical, timely advice within your area of expertise.
  • Strong relationship-building skills to foster collaboration and deliver customer focused program outcomes.
  • In-depth knowledge of community engagement best practices and relationship management to conduct effective public consultations and maintain the department's reputation.
  • A solid understanding of issues and reputation management, with the ability to provide strategic advice to maintain positive stakeholder relationships.

Mandatory qualifications and conditions:

  • A current “C” Class Driver's Licence.
  • A criminal history check due to access to sensitive data.
