No two days are the same - work may include patrolling parks, maintaining facilities, repairing tracks, engaging with visitors, preserving Cultural Heritage sites, protecting threatened species, conducting planned burns, controlling invasive species, delivering education and compliance programs, or managing wildlife rehabilitation.

About the OO3 Ranger Intake Scheme
An entry pathway for permanent, and/or temporary QPWS Ranger roles across Queensland, including Indigenous Identified and Diverse Ability Designated positions. It offers:

  • Diverse, impactful roles in conservation, wildlife protection, visitor safety, and/or education.
  • Locations across the State with varied landscapes and communities.
  • Career progression and development opportunities.

What you need to know before applying:

  • You must hold a current, unrestricted manual driver licence. (P Plates are acceptable).
  • Some roles may require a current Blue Card.
  • Applications remain current for 3 months unless withdrawn; you can update or resubmit anytime.
