You’ll provide specialist spatial support, maintain cadastral data within the Queensland Spatial Cadastral Fabric, and collaborate with government and industry stakeholders. The Georesources division capitalises on Queensland’s minerals, coal, petroleum and gas resources. Mining is the number one wealth generating sector in the state and the work done in this division plays a key role in regulating the resources sector, while also supporting industry development and sector growth. As a Senior Spatial Information Officer within Spatial Information Services and member of the state-wide cadastral services team, you will contribute to delivering specialist spatial support aligned to departmental, customer and community priorities. This role plays a key part in maintaining and improving Queensland's digital cadastral framework.
In your day-to-day work, you will update and maintain the Queensland Spatial Cadastral Fabric (QSCF) within the ESRI Parcel Fabric environment from newly registered cadastral survey plans. You'll use spatial databases, web services and modern GIS platforms to support accurate data management and service delivery. You will work collaboratively with internal teams, other government agencies and external stakeholders, preparing reports and contributing to process improvements. The role also involves applying emerging technologies, building efficiency through automation, and supporting innovative approaches to spatial data management.
Success in this role comes from delivering accurate, timely spatial data updates, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives, and effectively managing competing priorities. You will build strong working relationships, adapt to new tools and technologies, and demonstrate sound judgement and self-management in a dynamic environment.
