The position of Manager, Department Liaison Office, will provide strong, effective, leadership, innovative thinking and strategic advice to the Office of the Director General and divisional departmental offices. The Manager will be responsible for optimising use of available resources and establishing a culture of teamwork, transparency and openness while maintaining strong communication channels between the Minister's office and the agency.

The Manager will take responsibility for the ongoing development, implementation and review of strategies, policies and protocols, which appropriately support the Minister, ministerial staff and the Director-General.

What you will be doing:
• Oversee and actively contribute to the strategic vision of the department and organisational priorities through effective advice and communication with the ministerial office and departmental stakeholders.
• Provide strategic, consistent and timely advice to the Office of the Minister and the Director General regarding contentious, time-critical or confidential matters.
• Partner with managers across divisions, providing authoritative advice and support to deliver high quality information to the minister's office that supports the department's strategic objectives.
• Coordinate the collection and integration of information and briefings from a variety of sources including external stakeholders to provide the Director-General, Minister and ministerial staff with a consolidated briefing, recommendations and advice and maintain up-to-date knowledge of issues across the department's portfolio.
• Ensure the achievement of activities, including the ongoing development, implementation and review of strategies, policies and protocols, which appropriately support the Minister, ministerial staff and the Director-General.
• Plan, organise and manage the unit's responsibilities, including fostering a professional environment to encourage commitment, ethical behaviour, staff wellbeing, skills development, professional growth and continuous improvement.
