As Ranger in Charge - Innisfail South, you will lead a small team of rangers responsible for managing and protecting national parks and protected areas within the Wet Tropics region, including the popular Mission Beach area. You will oversee the planning and delivery of work programs across fire, pest, estate, visitor and asset management, while also coordinating conservation projects, infrastructure maintenance, compliance activities and emergency response operations.

The role requires strong leadership, communication and organisational skills, with the ability to mentor staff, manage resources and budgets, and build productive relationships with First Nations partners, local government, community groups and other stakeholders. You'll be comfortable working both in the field and in an administrative environment, undertaking planning, reporting and project management responsibilities. Experience in protected area, land or natural resource management is highly regarded, along with the ability to lead teams in challenging outdoor environments. A current unrestricted manual driver's licence is mandatory.

This role is ideal for a motivated leader who is passionate about conservation, enjoys working with people, and thrives in a hands-on role that delivers real outcomes for Queensland's parks and communities.
