Working within the Vehicle Policy team, you will contribute to complex policy and legislative reform initiatives that influence vehicle safety and regulation across the state. You will research and analyse issues, develop policy solutions, prepare high-quality briefings and submissions, and engage with stakeholders across government, industry and the community.

As a Senior Policy Advisor, you will play an important role in shaping policy and legislative reform that supports vehicle safety and regulatory outcomes across Queensland. Working within the Vehicle Policy team, you will contribute to strategic initiatives that balance community safety, industry needs and regulatory efficiency.
You will work on complex policy matters and contribute to a high-profile program of reform that influences how vehicle standards and regulation are developed and implemented. This role offers the opportunity to work across a diverse range of issues while engaging with stakeholders from government, industry and the broader community.
Key Responsibilities
You will:
- Research, analyse and evaluate complex policy issues and develop practical, evidence-based solutions
- Prepare high-quality briefing notes, correspondence, submissions and strategic policy documents
- Contribute to policy and legislative reform initiatives that improve vehicle safety and regulatory outcomes
- Support the delivery of strategic projects and reform activities within agreed timeframes
- Engage and collaborate with stakeholders across Queensland and nationally to achieve policy objectives
- Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and professional excellence within the team.

Mandatory qualifications and conditions
- Due to this role having access to sensitive data, a criminal history check will be undertaken prior to appointment to the role.
Requirements of the role
- Ability to contribute to strategic policy and legislative projects whilst working to tight timeframes.
- Expertise in researching, interpreting and analysing complex legislation and other information to inform policy recommendations.
- Proficiency in positive engagement and effective collaboration and consultation with internal and external stakeholders to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes.
- Demonstrated experience in successfully implementing policy outcomes; such as developing and delivering communication and engagement plans.
