An exciting permanent opportunity has become available for an Advisor (Administration and Governance) to join the team in the Far North District, based in Cairns.
As Advisor (Administration and Governance), you will play a key role in supporting the successful delivery of programs and projects across the region. You will provide high-level advice and support to program and project managers, lead the delivery of program support services, and contribute to the effective governance and administration of regional initiatives.

As Advisor (Administration and Governance), you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient delivery of administration and governance support services across the region. You will lead and manage a range of administrative functions, provide high level support to program and project teams, and ensure compliance with corporate governance obligations, standards, and policies. Your leadership will contribute to the successful delivery of regional programs and projects while fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
Some of your responsibilities will include:
Leading and managing administration support services within the region, including:
- Vehicle fleet management, travel, and accommodation coordination.
- Reception and general administration support.
- Right to Information (RTI) requests.
- Information and records management.
Undertaking team leader functions, such as:
- Performance planning and monitoring.
- Timesheet and leave approvals.
- Coaching, mentoring, and career development planning.
- Identifying and developing appropriate skill sets and training needs for team members.
- Driving business outcomes by ensuring effective resource utilisation, performance monitoring, analysis, and reporting.
- Enhancing program and project delivery by undertaking a range of activities to support program development and project execution.
- Ensuring compliance with corporate governance obligations, legislation, standards, and departmental policies.
- Building and maintaining effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support program and project objectives.
- Promoting workplace health and safety by complying with the Work Health and Safety (WH&S) Act, regulations, and departmental policies.

Mandatory qualifications and conditions
- A current Class ‘C' Drivers Licence
- Pre-employment checks, including a criminal history screening and declaration of serious discipline history will be required to be completed.
- Must be eligible to work in Australia.
